minds may have been changed
we were geared up to take bradley classes starting in early january that would last until feb. 27. this made me a little nervous, since i'm due around the first of march, but i thought, "oh well, we'll try it anyway." well, this weekend, i was looking at our hospital website to see what parenting & breastfeeding classes they offer. i realized that they recommend being done with all of your classes 3-4 weeks before your due date. huh. they offer a weekend lamaze class that costs $70. the breastfeeding class is $30 and the parenting class, $40. the bradley classes are a whopping $225. we could take 3 different classes and still spend less than this ONE (granted, 6 week) class! i'm going to ask the doctor what she thinks. i am also leaning toward the lamaze because i am not opposed to drugs, and i think the bradely classes are going to encourage no drugs...i don't want to feel like a loser if i opt for an epidural. i also want to get a hospital tour (included in the lamaze class) and get a feel for how the hospital does things. i'm not going to get that at the bradley classes.
i'm also rethinking the diaper situation. while i care about the environment, i also care about saving my sanity...plus i read that the chemicals that cloth diapers put into our water supply isn't great either, and the cost, if using a diaper service vs. getting diapers at costco is not going to be significant...oh the dilemmas. e seems really sold on cloth diapers, but i think when push comes to shove, he will like the ease of disposable. i'm going to have to research this a bit more.
